The Aotea Centre is a purpose-built performing arts centre, home to New Zealand’s largest tiered auditorium, a unique black box theatre, function rooms, and BOX Café and Bar. It was designed around a collection of beautiful artworks by leading New Zealand contemporary artists.

An exciting, phased development is underway to refurbish the Centre with a fresh, sophisticated edge. The building will be transformed to enable innovative performing arts activities and attract more world-class creative talent and events.

Work on the exterior has already begun, and the interior refresh begins in October 2018. Take a last tour through the Aotea Centre before renovations begin.
