STRAIGHT, NO CHASER is a weekly, Thursday-night Jazz series presenting classic NYC piano trio music from LA Jazz pianists who are either NYC expatriates or have a serious connection to NYC. We strive to play in the style of our idols and mentors in NYC, greats like Hank Jones, Tommy Flanagan, Barry Harris, Kenny Barron, Cedar Walton, Mulgrew Miller and all the great pianists who defined piano-trio music in New York in recent decades. And the Tap Room, with it's oak walls, classic styling, and assuredly "grown-up" vibe, provides the perfect setting. And "Straight, No Chaser" (apart from being the title of a classic Monk blues) alludes to the FREE top shelf tasting that happens every Thursday as well. So you can sample a Spirit while tapping your feet.
A nod to the original hotel bar which opened in the 1930s just after Prohibition ended, The Tap Room is a stylish and inviting space featuring classic and innovative handmade cocktails, an eclectic wine selection, premium beers on tap from around the world and upscale, innovative bar food.
The drink menu includes traditional and modern hand crafted cocktails showcasing big, bold flavors and fresh ingredients. It also offer an eclectic wine selection and top shelf liquor such as single malt scotch, tequila, cognac, bourbon, whiskey and port, as well as artisanal beers on tap.
The Tap Room food menu puts an upscale twist on traditional bar favorites and features small plates with flavors from around the world.
